The Camera Club of Richmond offers an opportunity for beginners and advanced photographers to achieve maximum enjoyment in the inspiring hobby of photography.
Evaluations are held six times a year at regular monthly meetings. An experienced photographer critiques members’ images and offers constructive suggestions for improvement.
Workshops are provided on topics of interest to Club members
(i.e., photo editing software techniques, portrait lighting).
Photo Shoots are planned throughout the year, usually as day trips, but sometimes as overnight field trips. They provide an opportunity to practice skills, learn from fellow Club members and build camraderie.
Community Services related to photography are provided by volunteer Club members to various organizations.
Member Competition and an Awards Banquet are held at year-end.
The Camera Club of Richmond is a venue for photographers of all experience levels to share the joys of photography. We promote excellence in photography through sharing of knowledge among members, inviting outside professionals in the photography field to share their experiences with us, and working to enhance the appreciation of photography throughout the community. The Club includes members with the full range of experience and skill levels. We welcome members as young as 16 years old. Members use digital and film cameras and share their work via slides, prints and digital projection. We recognize that photography is changing, growing and, with ever-emerging technologies, more exciting than ever!
Members meet on the second Wednesday of each month at Holiday Inn Crossroads, 2000 Staples Mill Road, near the corner of Staples Mill and Broad.
To become a member, please complete a Membership Application and bring it, along with payment of annual dues (2012 dues are $30), to the Club's next regular monthly meeting.
